Meet the People

Gill De’ath – CEO

Gill is the founder of Dedham Therapy Farm and has a Foundation Degree in Special Educational Needs (SEN). For three years Gill worked in a Primary School setting with behaviour students and twelve years in a Secondary school.

Gill is one of five directors of Nurture Dogs inc Dedham Therapy Farm CIC.

Katie Harwood – Support Worker

Katie used to manage Dedham Therapy Farm five days per week but recently had a baby and is now back two days per week as a support worker. She originally started as a volunteer back in 2014 and is also a trustee of Colchester Gateway Club.

Katie is one of the five directors of Nurture Dogs inc Dedham Therapy Farm CIC.

Dave De’ath – Occupational Therapist

Dave is the founder of Nurture Dogs CIC and is a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT). He works as a Volunteer Therapist at Dedham Therapy Farm. Dave also has a postgraduate teaching qualification and works as an honorary Lecturer at the University Of Essex.

Dave is also the Treasurer and one of five Directors of Nurture Dogs inc Dedham Therapy Farm.

Zoe Douglas – Occupational Therapist

Zoe is a qualified Occupational Therapist and joined our team firstly as a volunteer over 3 years ago. Zoe has two children and a dog Bassie. She has a keen interest in gardening and gained a diploma in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture in 2016.

Amy Boyce – Occupational Therapist

Ilona Heley – Canine – Assisted Therapist

Ilona is a qualified canine-assisted therapist and joined our team at the beginning of 2017.

Ilona has a five-year-old son and two dogs, Yuffi and Marley. She also volunteers her time twice per week at the National Animal Welfare Trust Clacton, as well as at Colchester Gateway Club.

Megan Dack – Coordinator and Administrator

Megan is our Coordinator and Administrator. Megan volunteered at the Farm for a number of years and is now working with us part time.
She has two children and two dogs Roxy and Blue.


We have a number of volunteers at the Farm who are vital part of the Team and who help to keep the Farm running on a day to day basis.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life bringing with them a variety of skills and experience from animal husbandry to administration.
